How Forwarding from Gmail Works
Create an address once, then forward documents whenever they arrive.
A forwarding address per project
Each project gets its own @files.docuclipper.com address for a document type. Forward an email from Gmail to it and every PDF or image attachment becomes a job in that project.
Automatic extraction
Bank statements, invoices, receipts, and tax forms attached to the email are extracted as soon as the email arrives, exactly as if you had uploaded the file yourself.
Receipts without attachments
Order confirmations and receipts that arrive as a plain email, with no PDF, are read from the email body as a receipt or invoice.
No access to your inbox
DocuClipper never connects to your Gmail account. It only sees the emails you choose to forward, so nothing else in your inbox is read.

Create a forwarding address
In Automations, pick the project and add an Email forwarding input for the document type you want, such as Invoices or Bank statements. Copy the address DocuClipper generates.

Forward from Gmail, or share the address
Forward any email with a statement, invoice, or receipt to the address. You can also give the address to clients or vendors so they send documents to DocuClipper directly.

Documents process automatically
Each PDF or image attachment becomes a job in the project. Results appear in the project and can be exported to your accounting system right away.

Create an Email forwarding input under Automations for the project and document type you want. DocuClipper gives you a unique @files.docuclipper.com address. Forward any email from Gmail to that address and each PDF or image attachment is extracted into the project automatically.
No. There is no Gmail sign-in and DocuClipper never reads your inbox. It only receives the emails you forward, or that clients and vendors send, to your project's DocuClipper address.
Yes. You can share the project's address with clients, vendors, or colleagues. Anything sent to it is processed in that project, so keep the address private if you want to control who can submit documents.
Bank and credit card statements, invoices, receipts, checks, and IRS tax forms such as W-2 and 1099, from both digital and scanned PDFs and from images. Each forwarding address is tied to one document type, so create a second address in the same project if you need both invoices and bank statements.
Each PDF or image attachment becomes its own document. An email with three client bank statements produces three documents, each available to review and export. Tiny images such as email signature logos are skipped.
Into the project, where you can export to Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero, or Google Sheets. You can also use the API or webhooks to send results to your own systems as soon as a document is processed.
