For the months the bank feed doesn't reach: catch-up, clean-up, new clients and prior years. Upload a year of bank or card statements, see that each one balances, and import it into QuickBooks Online or Desktop.

There are four ways to get bank statement transactions into QuickBooks: connect a bank feed, download a QBO, QFX or CSV file from your bank and upload it, upload a single PDF statement in QuickBooks Online, or convert PDF statements to a QBO or IIF file. The first three cover recent months on accounts you can reach. For a year of history, client statements, scans or QuickBooks Desktop, convert the PDFs with DocuClipper: every statement is checked against its printed balances, then imported through QuickBooks' own Upload from file or Web Connect screen.
| Route | Use it for | In QuickBooks |
|---|---|---|
| Bank feed | Use it for: Ongoing transactions on accounts you can log in to; history only as far back as the bank sends | In QuickBooks: Bank transactions, Link account |
| File from your bank (QBO, QFX or CSV) | Use it for: Recent months your bank still offers as a download | In QuickBooks: Online: Link account, Upload from file. Desktop: File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files |
| QuickBooks Online PDF upload | Use it for: An occasional English statement, reviewed side by side before saving | In QuickBooks: Online only: Link account, Upload from file |
| DocuClipper PDF conversion | Use it for: A year of statements at once, client PDFs, scans, closed accounts, QuickBooks Desktop | In QuickBooks: Download a QBO, IIF or CSV file and import it on the screens above |

From PDF to QuickBooks-ready in four steps.
Drag in one statement or a year of them, from any bank or card issuer, scanned or digital.
Every transaction is pulled out and each statement is checked against its printed balances, so a missing line is flagged before import.
Pick the bank and account type for a QBO (Web Connect) file, or map accounts for a Desktop IIF file.
Online: Banking, File upload. Desktop: File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files (or IIF Files).

Most statements our customers bring into QuickBooks are history, not this month: the median one had closed about 9 months before it was imported. That is catch-up work, and it is what DocuClipper is built for. Across 32,226 statements from September 14 to October 13, 2026:
| Statement ended before import | Share of statements |
|---|---|
| Within the last 90 days | 29% |
| More than 90 days earlier | 71% |
| More than 1 year earlier | 40% |
| More than 2 years earlier | 12% |
Importing history next to a live bank feed? End the file the day before the feed starts and set the opening balance from the first statement. Every method, including bank file downloads, is in the guide how to import bank statements into QuickBooks.
DocuClipper handles the conversion, you focus on the books.
Scanned or digital PDFs from any bank or card issuer, with no per-bank template to set up.
Dates, descriptions and amounts arrive in QuickBooks as bank transactions, ready to categorize in the For Review tab.
QBO (Web Connect) lands in the bank register like a bank feed. IIF posts each line to the account you choose, and keeps working on Desktop versions without bank feeds.
Every statement is added up against its printed opening and closing balances, and one that doesn't balance is flagged for a look before import.
Upload 12 months of statements for an account at once. 29% of the statements converted for QuickBooks last month arrived in batches of 12 or more.
DocuClipper is SOC 2 Type II certified, so client bank statements are handled under audited controls.
Intuit retires online banking services for older Desktop versions on a rolling schedule, which is what produces “Bank feeds are no longer supported for your version.” IIF import is not part of that service, so it keeps working when Web Connect doesn't.
Upload your Chart of Accounts to the project once and every IIF download is validated against it, so account-name mismatches surface before QuickBooks rejects the file. Read the IIF import guide or see the full QuickBooks Desktop integration.
Depending on your workflow, one of these formats may be a better fit.
Import statements into Desktop versions that no longer accept Web Connect files.
Download the same reconciled transactions as an .xlsx file for review.
